Storing Your Spare Tire In Your Vehicle

We want our spare tire solution to be as convenientas possible. As such, we have designedour kit to fit in the available spare tire well ofyour vehicle. Please install using the followinginstructions:

  1. Remove rubber mat from trunk if equipped.
  2. Unscrew hold down piece so that the decklid may be removed.
  3. If equipped, remove inflator kit components.
  4. Place jack, lug wrench, and disposable tire bag next to the battery. It is best to
    use included packaging material so that components will stay secure when
    stowed in tire well.
  5. Place Modern Spare wheel & tire combo into the spare tire well on top of the
    battery. For a picture example of this please visit www.modernspare.com and
    view the 2010-2015 Camaro kits.
  6. Place deck lid back on top of the spare tire well.
  7. Use included hold-down hardware to fasten deck lid. Please note that the OEM
    hold down piece will not work as there are clearance issues with the spare tire.
  8. Replace the rubber mat if equipped.

*Please note that there is a very small amount of deck lid lift that comes from the spare
tire being in the tire well. Due to the required brake clearance requirements for the
Camaro having a spare that causes a small amount of deck lid lift was unavoidable.*

Has the global trade uncertainty affected Modern Spare in terms of inventory and price increases?

Yes and no –

Since our humble beginnings in 2016, relying on single manufacturing partners—and more so, partners in some countries that are vulnerable to trade conflict—is something we have avoided. This has proven effective over the years, and we hope it will help us navigate what may come in 2025.

We don’t anticipate significant price increases, if any, in the coming months. The real challenge may be disruptions in global shipping later in 2025 that delay shipments and put strain on inventories.

Thankfully, we’re well stocked now, and most new orders are being shipped out immediately.

Consider this:

If you are thinking of purchasing a spare tire, now may be a good time—just in case the supply disruptions cause delays or lengthy inventory issues.
