Bold and radical designs, deserve a Modern Spare
Modern Spare engineers spare tire kits for your Dodge and Chrysler car. Controlling ownership of Chrysler has changed hands several times in recent years. We lament the passing of the Plymouth nameplate and look at its past with fondness. However, a radical boldness behind the Dodge / Chrysler brand still remains. Consider the carmaker’s bold over-the-top 1970 color schemes. Massive horsepower is not bold enough. What not get plumb crazy and produce a purple Barracuda? If bold colors are not enough, consider the 1991 Dodge Viper. Just the Viper’s powerplant alone (a 400hp V10), is certainly radical and bold, not to mention the over the top style of the car itself.
Chrysler is never content to let Ford and GM garner all the attention and they continue that same approach. Moreover, not much can be done with a 4-door sedan that hasn’t already been done… unless you’re a Chrysler designer. The 2005 Burke Brown designed Chrysler 300 was a bold statement of timeless style. This ’05 300 was released when car designs were getting a tad boring and the Brown-designed 300 still influences current designs.
The Challenger Hellcat Redeye boasts a whopping 797hp. With HP numbers in that range, one has to wonder where the current muscle car race will take us. The best part, we live in an age of incredible technology that helps manage that horsepower and put it where it belongs.
Chrysler products are no different from other car makers with the elimination of the factory provided spare tire. The removal of the spare tire is the result of cost and weight reduction. But, let’s face it, the old factory spare tires were barely adequate and are certainly not a great solution for the modern, high-performance Chrysler drivetrains.
